About
Why We're Here
Hearing Kids is changing the world of audiology. When we evaluate children’s academic or behavioral issues, we don’t just look at what the problem is, but why the problem is occuring. By evaluating patients holistically, Hearing Kids can help each child reach their full potential.
About Chanie
Hearing Kids founder Chanie Monoker, CCC-A, is an award winning audiologist who has dedicated the last three decades to advancing the learning process, teaching and treating preschool, elementary school, high school, and college-aged students. Her research on assessing auditory processing using objective measures was award winning, and was presented at the 2017 ASHA convention. Chanie received her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences from Hunter College and is a licensed audiologist in both NY and NJ. She is currently a candidate at CUNY for a PhD in Speech Language and Hearing.

Chanie’s background in educational audiology gives her a unique understanding of auditory issues particular to learning and development. She serviced the hearing-impaired children of New York City as an educational audiologist and the children of New Jersey as a developmental interventionist with special focus on auditory processing. She is a certified IM, iLs, Fast ForWord, and therapeutic listening provider. She is a certified BioAcoustics Research Associate and is trained in ABA and DIR Floortime. Chanie is also certified to teach the educationally handicapped, deaf and hard of hearing, and speech and hearing handicapped. In addition to her work at Hearing Kids, she hosts audiology workshops for parents, teachers, and therapists.
Chanie is mother to six children into whom she imparted her love of learning and an eagerness to ask her favorite question: Why?
Why Parents & Educators Turn To Hearing Kids

Hearing Kids isn’t your ordinary provider. In assessments, we use objective measures in combination with the classic behavioral measures to get to the heart of the problem and avoid misdiagnosis. We understand the complexities of auditory processing issues. That’s why our treatment plans are personalized, based on children’s individual test results. We are well-versed in multiple areas of audiology, concentrating on auditory acuity, auditory processing, neurological development, and academic excellence. Our diverse toolbox includes the latest and most effective methods for helping children with auditory processing issues, providing everything from therapeutic listening to customized earplugs. When parents and educators need answers and solutions, they come to us.
Who is this for?
If your child is struggling academically or having behavioral issues, the problem could be their auditory processing. But auditory issues can be difficult to evaluate and diagnose. Parents and educators can go from provider to provider searching for answers. And even when they get an answer, it’s not always correct. Children are often misdiagnosed with ADD, a learning disability, language impairment or even a mental illness. If this has happened to you, or if you’ve never gotten an answer, Hearing Kids can help. We are committed to getting your child the treatment they need. We work with children of all ages, specializing in ages 10-16.
How We Work
Every journey with Hearing Kids begins with an easy consultation. Our objective assessments only require your child to sit quietly while we do all the work. We have expertise in multiple areas, including auditory acuity, auditory processing, neurological development, and academic excellence. And if your child needs a treatment we don’t provide, don’t worry! We can refer you to the best places for your child to get the care they need. Hearing Kids is committed to being a helping hand in your search for answers.
